1 Getting Started

What is DeepBook?

DeepBook is a trusted onchain trading app for spot and prediction markets on Sui. It runs on deep, shared liquidity that 15+ apps across the Sui ecosystem already route through, which means better depth and tighter spreads for traders moving real size.

Funds settle onchain and stay in your wallet until an order fills. There is no house account holding your deposits and no withdrawal queue to get stuck in. The contracts are audited, bounty-protected, and have been live on Sui since 2023.

DeepBook currently offers two products: Spot trading on an onchain order book, and Predict, where any price level is tradable in any direction over any timeframe.

Who can use DeepBook?

DeepBook is available to users in supported jurisdictions who have a Sui-compatible wallet. You do not need an account or signup. Connect your wallet and you can start trading.

The DeepBook app is available in the United States, except for Predict. Predict is not available to US users.

Users in restricted jurisdictions cannot access the platform. See “Which countries are not able to engage with the DeepBook trading platform?” below for the full list.

Which countries are not able to engage with the DeepBook trading platform?

The following jurisdictions are excluded from accessing the DeepBook trading platform:

  • Afghanistan, Belarus, China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Russia, and Syria.

The DeepBook app is available in the United States, except for Predict. Predict is not available to US users.

How do I move funds back to my wallet?

When you trade on DeepBook, your assets move between two states: your wallet balance (unallocated funds in your Sui wallet) and your trade balance (funds allocated to DeepBook for active trading).

To move funds from your trade balance back to your wallet balance:

  1. Click on your balance in the top right corner.
  2. Select “Move to Wallet Balance.”
  3. Choose the asset type and amount.
  4. Confirm the transaction.

The assets return to your unallocated wallet balance, where you control them directly. From there you can use them elsewhere on Sui or transfer them off-chain through a supported exchange or bridge.

There is no withdrawal queue and no approval process. DeepBook is non-custodial so your funds are always in your control.

How does early access work?

On September 3, DeepBook started rolling out access in waves before opening to all users. Early access is granted based on waitlist position, referral activity, and other signals of trading intent.

If you are on the waitlist, you will receive a notification when your access is ready.

Once you have access, connect your wallet and start trading. No additional application or approval is required.

2 Spot

How Spot trading works

DeepBook Spot lets you trade directly on the onchain order book that 15+ apps across the Sui ecosystem already route through. Because multiple apps share the same book, liquidity compounds rather than fragments, which supports better depth, tighter spreads, and lower slippage for traders moving real size.

All trades settle onchain. Your funds stay in your own wallet until an order fills.

Currently supported Spot markets include SUI, DEEP, WAL, xBTC, wBTC, USDSUI, NS, XAGM, and XAUM paired against USDC, plus DEEP, WAL, and NS paired against SUI.

Why does shared liquidity matter?

Onchain liquidity is often divided across separate apps and order books, leaving less depth available in each venue. DeepBook’s spot market allows multiple apps to route through the same book, so liquidity can compound rather than fragment. For traders moving meaningful size, greater shared depth can support tighter spreads and lower slippage.

Will more Spot markets be added over time?

DeepBook App is designed to provide access to markets available on the DeepBook protocol. Additional trading pairs may become available over time as the app expands. Check the app for the latest supported markets. DeepBook will continue to assess other asset support, look for updates on app.deepbook.xyz and on X at @DeepBookonSui.

3 Predict

What is Predict, and how is it different from a prediction market?

A typical prediction market gives you a fixed set of yes-or-no bets that someone else defined, and the position you hold is a dead-end token you cannot use elsewhere. Predict works differently. You name any price you want, including ranges between two prices, and the market is created on demand and priced for you in real time. One shared pool takes the other side of every trade, so a quote is always available, where prediction markets depend on finding another taker. The closest traditional analog is asking a derivatives desk for a custom quote, automated and running onchain.

What is a 1-minute market?

A 1-minute market is a Predict position that settles one minute after you open it. You pick a price level (or range), take a direction, and the outcome is determined by where the asset price is when the market expires 60 seconds later.

Predict supports multiple timeframes, from as short as one minute to as long as a month. Shorter timeframes suit traders who want to act on immediate price movement. Longer timeframes suit traders with a broader view.

What assets are currently supported for Predict on DeepBook App?

BTC is currently the only asset supported, however DeepBook will continue to assess other asset support, look for updates on app.deepbook.xyz and on X at @DeepBookonSui.

How do Predict strikes work?

A strike lets you pick a specific price and take a view on whether the asset will be above or below that level when the market settles.

For example: you believe BTC will be above $62,000 in one hour. You open a strike at $62,000 in the “above” direction. If BTC is above that price at settlement, your position pays out. If it is below, the position expires worthless.

You choose the strike price. It is not limited to a preset list. One shared pool prices and takes the other side of the trade, so a quote is always available.

How do Predict ranges work?

A range lets you pick two prices and take a view on whether the asset will land between them at settlement.

For example: you believe BTC will stay between $61,500 and $62,500 over the next hour. You open a range between those two prices. If BTC settles within that range, your position pays out. If it settles outside the range, the position expires worthless.

Ranges let you express a more specific view than a single strike. The tighter the range, the higher the potential payout, but the less likely the outcome.

My Predict trade failed. What should I do?

A Predict trade can fail for the same general reasons as a Spot trade: insufficient USDC balance, wallet disconnection, or network congestion on Sui.

If your Predict trade failed, check the transaction in a Sui Explorer. If the issue persists, open a support ticket with your wallet address, transaction digest, the market and position details (strike or range, direction, timeframe), and a screenshot.

4 Referrals

How do referral links work?

Every DeepBook user can generate a unique referral link from the Referrals section in the app. When someone signs up and trades through your link, the referral is attributed to you.

Share your link however you like, but do not misrepresent DeepBook or make promises about returns when sharing it.

How does referral attribution work?

When someone opens DeepBook through your referral link and connects their wallet, the referral is attributed to your account. Attribution is based on the link used at the time of signup.

What are referral rewards?

Referral rewards are based on the trading activity of the people you refer. Bringing in traders who actually trade earns more than raw signup numbers.

Check the Referrals section in the app for your current rewards, referral stats, and payout details.

5 Security

What are the official DeepBook channels?

These are the only official DeepBook channels:

  • App: app.deepbook.xyz
  • Website: deepbook.xyz
  • X: @DeepBookonSui

DeepBook will never contact you first through DMs, Telegram, or any unofficial channel to ask for wallet information or offer support. If someone does, it is a scam.

How do I avoid scams?

Scammers may impersonate DeepBook team members or support agents on Telegram, X, Discord, or through direct messages. Common tactics include:

  • Claiming to be from “DeepBook Support” and asking for wallet credentials
  • Offering to “fix” a transaction or “recover” funds in exchange for your seed phrase
  • Sending links to fake versions of the DeepBook app
  • Promising airdrops, rewards, or refunds in exchange for connecting your wallet to an unknown site

If anyone contacts you claiming to be from DeepBook and asks for your seed phrase, private key, recovery phrase, or password, or asks you to connect your wallet to an unfamiliar site, it is a scam. Do not engage. Report the account.

The only way to contact DeepBook Support is through the Help Center or the official support email.

What will DeepBook Support never ask for?

DeepBook Support will never ask for your seed phrase, private key, wallet recovery phrase, or password.

No one from the DeepBook team will ever ask you to:

  • Share your seed phrase or recovery phrase
  • Share your private key
  • Share your password
  • Send funds to an address to “verify” or “unlock” your account
  • Connect your wallet to an unfamiliar website
  • Download software to “fix” an issue

If you are asked for any of these, it is not DeepBook. Do not comply. Report it.

If you believe you have already shared sensitive information with a scammer, transfer your assets to a new wallet immediately.

6 Builders and Developers

How do I build on DeepBook?

DeepBook is an open protocol. The same onchain order book that powers the DeepBook App is available for any developer to build on. You can integrate DeepBook liquidity into your own app, run your own trading strategy against the book, or build higher-level products on top of the protocol.

Resources to get started:

  • Protocol documentation: docs.sui.io/onchain-finance/deepbook/deepbookv3/deepbook
  • TypeScript SDK documentation: docs.sui.io/onchain-finance/deepbook/deepbookv3-sdk
  • SDK examples: github.com/MystenLabs/ts-sdks
  • Source code: github.com/MystenLabs/deepbookv3
  • Whitepaper: Available in the GitHub repository

No allowlist is required to start reading the book or building against it.

What can I build with DeepBook?

DeepBook is a decentralized central limit order book (CLOB) on Sui. It supports limit orders, market orders, and direct swaps at the contract level. Developers can:

  • Route trades through DeepBook’s shared liquidity from their own app
  • Build trading bots or automated strategies via the API and SDK
  • Integrate the order book into wallets, aggregators, or DeFi products
  • Run market-making strategies with maker rebates for staked DEEP holders

15+ apps already route through DeepBook. If you are building a trading surface, aggregator, or DeFi product on Sui, you can tap into the same liquidity pool.

How do I get started as a market maker?

DeepBook supports programmatic trading through its TypeScript SDK and Move contracts. Market makers who stake DEEP tokens can access reduced fees and maker rebates.

Start with the protocol documentation and SDK examples linked above. For market maker onboarding and partnership inquiries, reach out through the official channels.
